The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 passed this weekend, and signed by President Obama yesterday, is nearly 1,100 pages, and is a wide-sweeping bill containing provisions for enhancing infrastructure, education, healthcare, relief for the unemployed, tax cuts and changes, as well as fiscal relief for the states. The bill also contains significant accountability provisions, setting up a Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board to coordinate and conduct oversight to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse.
