SEC Schedules Second Mark-to-Market Roundtable for November 21

In a press release Friday, the SEC announced that it will host the second of its "mark-to-market" accounting and current market conditions on November 21, 2008. Part of the study of "mark-to-market accounting" mandated by the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, these roundtables are intended to provide the Commission with input from market participants.  The November 21 roundtable will focus "on potential improvements to the current accounting model and implications of possible changes."

The event, to be held at SEC Headquarters in Washington, DC, is scheduled to start at 9:30AM and will consist of one panel:
The panel will include investors, accountants, regulators, business leaders, and other interested parties. Additionally, representatives from the U.S Department of Treasury, Federal Reserve Board, Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) will be present as observers.
The SEC will announce a list of participants and moderators prior to November 21.  The entire event will be webcast via a link on the SEC's website, and an archive will be available after the event.
